Who Owns the Process?

· Writing

Someone owns the stapler.

Someone owns the marketing plan.

And someone owns the organization.

Who owns the process?

The process occurs internally and externally. And it is constantly changing. This creates problems for you as you try to control it — half of the process resides outside of your domain.

It is a moving target.

And it’s unsolvable.

The world changes and your organization reacts. Your reaction causes the world to change. And the process continues ad infinitum.

Every situation is workable, but not every situation is solvable.

No one owns the process.

But everyone participates.

Someone owns the stapler.

Someone owns the marketing plan.
